"Listen to the mustn'ts, child. Listen to the don'ts. Listen to the shouldn'ts, the impossibles, the won'ts. Listen to the never haves, then listen close to me... Anything can happen, child. Anything can be." - Shel Silverstein

The Little Girl Who Had a Little Curl

The was a little girl who had a little curl
Right in the middle of her forehead;
When she was good, she was very, very good,
And when she was bad, she was horrid.

~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow~

Don't you just love the many faces of our goofy Rissa Roo?

Quick update: After my last post, we all had the night from hell. Marissa woke up at 2:30 in the morning when her pulse ox alarmed because it wasn't picking up correctly. She normally sleeps through it but not this time. After an hour and a half of trying to put her back to sleep, we finally gave up. Jeremy was able work from home Thursday and Friday, so we had a 4 day weekend to rest up and see if we could get Marissa's attitude on track. A very encouraging development: Marissa was relatively well behaved because her Daddy was here. While it makes me a bit jealous that she will behave for him and rails so hard against me, it is good because it makes us more confident that we are not looking at a medical reason behind her outbursts. She is just darn sick and tired of being around me all the time and she takes it out on me!

She has had her ups and downs this morning but overall, I think the long stretch of Daddy time was good for her. She seems to be a little milder this morning. And, I was able to get out Friday evening and go see a good friend who is 8 months pregnant. We had Chinese takeout and talked for about 5 hours, before we realized how late it was. So good for my soul!

So, thank you for all the support, love, and prayers! Keep up the good thoughts and prayers, they seem to be working!

I love that!!! We always said that nursery for my niece, Sarah, but we ended it with ...and her name was SARAH!!! Corny, I know.

And I'm so glad you got to go eat Chinese food with a friend. It's good to have a break. No, it's necessary to have a break.

One more thing, thanks for your beautiful comment on my blog. Made me smile!

Well, if this all holds true, that Marissa is just plain tired of being with you, if you can hang on and hang in there until she's able to go to pre-school, I think that will make a huge difference for all of you. Yep! That little poem was one that my mother recited to me, I memorized it early as a child, and then recited it to all of you kids...wow. And for SURE it is very fitting for our little Miss Sassy Pants!!! LOL I love the many faces of that little sprite...she really is cute in spite of her tantrums...love you all....

Love it! And, am glad J being home helped. Sounds like you both need breaks from each other! :)

Gotta love those goofy faces:) I'm so glad you were able to get some "me" time. There's something about Dad's that make all the difference in the world. My daughter is a daddy's girl too and behaves so much better when he's around.

I'm glad she's doing better, and that curl is the funniest. I think I need some new dancing videos of my girl!

I'm glad that she did better with her daddy around. Not for you but you know like you said that its less likely that it would be medical. I hope she gets better for you too. It seems to be going around. Maggie has had the most aweful tantrums lately and I have no idea what is up with her. I just have to ignore her.

I look forward to more updates about fun summer times and the possibility of her trach removal.

Good luck with everything and I will be praying that things get a little more calmer with Marissa.
