Spring Fever!!!

On a side note, tomorrow is Marissa's 2 year Trachaversary. Yup, she has been a neck breather for two years. 18 months longer than the doctor who originally placed it said she would. And we still have at least 5 or 6 months more to go. So much for estimates, huh?

Wow, 2 years. What a long strange trip it's been.

Marissa looks great!

It's interesting....we were told Lily would likely have her trach for 2-3 years because her tracheomalacia was so bad. Yet, after about a year, she was doing well, and they were talking about decannulation. Unfortunately, a bronch showed that her malacia was still very bad, and the ENT told me there was no way she would get her trach out for at least 4-5 years....not without an aortopexy. Apparently Lily had a lot of built up scar tissue from her previous aortic surgery, and after the aortopexy, her tracheomalacia had significantly improved. Less than 3 months later, she was decannulated, and we were thrilled!

Oh, and our Trachaversary (from the day it was placed) was May 5.

You guys are in the home stretch now!

Boy, we didn't know you had so many bugs to kill. Looks like Rissa got most of them. She sure enjoyed being outside, and we enjoyed watching her.
